SDI 101: Foundation Skills: Contemporary Self-defense for Leaders
Foudation Skills is a discussion of contemporary self-defense theory, with a complete introduction to the SD de-escalation model of the MLS curriculum, including boundary skills and physical skills training. Leaders who complete the foundation skills course are informed for teaching introductory de-escalation self-defense, as well as basic physical self-defense for women and men. This is an excellent professional development opportunity for any leader of safety training, and a valuable overview and review of skills and concepts for members intersted in MLS Certification.
G101: GirlSafety Education - A Contemporary Personal Safety Program for Girls age 12 and older
This self-defense basics introduction is designed for young girls and young women. Parental participation is encouraged. This E-list for questions and discussion covers essential topics of risk awareness and boundary-setting; danger signals, lures and ploys; protective factors and skills-suggestions for developing physical and non-physical safety techniques, including verbal defense. Topics are current and essential discussions for youth developing personal protection skills and awareness.
