Gender
The behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex. Note that gendered-behavior is cultural and not inherent to masculinity or femininity. Rather, under the frames of dualism and patriarchy, traits become associated with one gender and are considered inappropriate for the other gender. Rather than having strong men and strong women, strength is stereotypically assigned to the male gender and women who exhibit strength are seen as freakish, overly-aggressive, or masculine.
Gender-Conditioning
A system to socially train belief and behavior according to what is deemed appropriate for males or females. Note that gender conditioning is based on polar and mutually exclusive stereotypes.
Granting Significance (power of authority)
A basic human power to name experience. Granting significance is a way of orienting productively towards experience. People have freedom of choice as to how we perceive experience; granting significance means to choose to perceive things productively. If I was abused as a child, I can consider that as an experience that ruined my life, or an experience which taught me compassion, etc.
Goal-Orientation
Organized toward a specific out-come. In self-defense, goal-orientation is critically important as our goals for a situation will give us the clues we need to determine a strategy and choose tactics. Examples of self-defense goals: to communicate our feelings/values/needs, to escape, to resolve a conflict, to set clear boundaries, to de-escalate or calm the other person.
Goals
Conscious results of planned action.
